Adding to the record-breaking streak, Thursday's match between Mexico and South Africa, which Mexico won 2-0, achieved unprecedented success. It was not only the most-watched World Cup game in Spanish-language history but also the most-streamed Mexico World Cup match and the most-streamed group stage match in Spanish-language history. This game further cemented its place in the annals of World Cup broadcasting by becoming the most-watched World Cup opening game ever, irrespective of language, and the most-watched World Cup group stage game not featuring the U.S. team, across all languages.
