The latter is specifically designed to create focused matchmaking opportunities between Chinese content providers and buyers from key international markets, including the UK, France, Brazil, and Canada. The international pavilion will host institutions from countries such as Thailand, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Brazil, and Spain, offering showcases of foreign productions and promoting various filming locations, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Chinese promotion venue will facilitate tailored matchmaking sessions across categories like films, drama series, and microdramas, alongside global industry discussions and cultural tourism initiatives.

According to Chen Guo, managing director of the Shanghai International Film & TV Events Center, the primary objective of this year's TV forum is to streamline global content agreements. She emphasized that the forum will convene decision-makers from leading global platforms for extensive discussions on current market trends, essential purchasing needs, and diverse partnership avenues. The goal is to explore new pathways for Chinese narratives, especially microdramas, to achieve global recognition and distribution. Furthermore, the market is launching an official awards category for microdramas to acknowledge exceptional short-form productions. This award will evaluate content based on its value orientation, narrative creativity, production quality, and market reception, aiming to elevate production standards in the microdrama sector. Chen noted that the industry is experiencing a revitalization following a period of consolidation, with artificial intelligence tools attracting a new generation of creators and enhancing storytelling. Last year, international attendees comprised 12% of the total participants, with creative professionals forming the largest group at 35.54%. This year, the market aims to move beyond individual transactions, fostering annual strategic alliances, long-term content acquisition deals, and collaborative development frameworks between Chinese and international entities. This event runs concurrently with the Shanghai International Film Festival.
