RisingJoy has officially launched RJOY, a specialized streaming platform for microdramas. This new direct-to-consumer service is first rolling out in the United States and Japan, utilizing TikTok Minis to offer vertical content directly within the popular social media application.
Cassandra Yang, CEO and co-founder of the Singapore-based RisingJoy, made the announcement at the APOS conference in Bali. Yang emphasized that RJOY represents a natural progression for the company, which has rapidly amassed a collection of premium microdrama content and forged strategic distribution partnerships. She highlighted RJOY's direct-to-consumer approach, bolstered by collaborators who recognize the significant potential of micro-entertainment in today's content landscape.
The RJOY platform is debuting with an impressive lineup of 20 original titles slated for release in the latter half of 2026. This initial offering includes diverse content formats, such as AI anime and AI human productions. Notable titles in the AI anime category, adapted from popular microdrama series, include "Addicted to the Dark Boss" and "Hide My Secret in the Moonlight." The AI human series feature "The Substitute Bride’s Secret Wonderland" and "Blind Spoiled," alongside an original fantasy anime titled "Locked Away, I Became Unbreakable." The selection of the U.S. and Japan as initial markets is strategic, given that the U.S. generates nearly half of global microdrama in-app purchase revenue outside of China, with Japan ranking second worldwide. RisingJoy has already established a broad licensing and distribution network across more than 30 countries and 50 platforms, delivering content in various languages, including Chinese, English, and Korean, as well as AI-generated formats. The company is now expanding its operations to become a full-service micro-entertainment studio, focusing on developing original intellectual property and co-production ventures to fuel its future growth.
