Gilead Sciences, Inc. is making significant strides in public health, particularly in HIV prevention and infectious disease management. With a relatively low short percentage of shares outstanding at 2.07%, Gilead is recognized among top longevity and anti-aging investment options, highlighting investor confidence in its long-term potential. Its innovative research and development pipeline continues to yield promising results, reinforcing its position as a leader in the biopharmaceutical sector.

A major regulatory milestone was achieved on June 15, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accepted Gilead's supplemental New Drug Application for Yeztugo 300-mg tablets. This potential once-weekly oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) treatment for HIV prevention has a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) target action date of February 2, 2027. If approved, Yeztugo could revolutionize HIV prevention by offering a more convenient dosing option, thus expanding Gilead's comprehensive HIV prevention offerings.

Beyond HIV, Gilead is actively engaged in global health initiatives. On June 12, the company announced the donation of over 2,000 vials of its intravenous antiviral therapy, remdesivir, to Uganda. This donation aims to support the country's efforts in combating the ongoing Ebola Bundibugyo virus outbreak. This act underscores Gilead's rapid response capabilities to health emergencies worldwide and its dedication to leveraging its extensive expertise in infectious disease management to assist affected communities.

Headquartered in Foster City, California, and founded in 1987, Gilead Sciences, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing, and commercializing transformative therapies for life-threatening conditions. By focusing on virology, oncology, and inflammation, Gilead aims to convert severe illnesses like HIV and Hepatitis C into manageable, long-term health states. The company's continuous innovation and philanthropic endeavors demonstrate a strong commitment to improving global health outcomes and fostering a healthier future for all.
